Therapeutic efficacy and mechanism of a solubilized Sturgeon oil in a mouse model of house dust mite-induced atopic dermatitis

Abstract The therapeutic effect and action mechanism of solubilized Sturgeon oil (SSO) against atopic dermatitis (AD) were examined in NC/Nga mice. SSO was prepared from the fish obtained Sturgeons using physical solubilization processes. AD induced by topical application house dust mite (HDM) extract on dorsal skin mice, then treated with SSO. exerted potent activity symptoms. Histological analysis revealed that reduced epidermal hyperplasia suppressed infiltration mast cells eosinophils skin. In addition, significantly serum total IgE HDM-specific levels AD-induced Analysis tissues showed downregulated expression IL-4, 5, 13, 17A COX-2, while upregulated IL-10 filaggrin. vitro studies also production Th2 cytokines including 5 increasing IL-10, anti-CD3/CD28-stimulated cells. These results show exerts mice through Th2-related immunomodulatory activities.
